Scholar I Author I Educator

Associate Director of the online Sport Management Master's program at The University of Texas at Austin, my alma mater. I live in Wilmington, NC, with my wife and son.

As an academic, I used to examine how disparate perceptions of organizational change processes cause friction among employees and what can be done to overcome these areas of disconnect. Additionally, I was fascinated by how entrepreneurs make choices within highly competitive niche spaces and how institutional order is preserved or challenged over time. While I do not spend my time studying these processes empirically anymore, I still enjoy learning and teaching others about the complex nature of human behavior under challenging and often novel circumstances.

I have authored or co-authored articles in Sport Management Review, Journal of Sport Management, Journal of Change Management, Journal of Organizational Change Management, Sport in Society, Case Studies in Sport Management, Creativity Research Journal, and The International Journal of the History of Sport.
